On October 19, 2021, Qiu Xiaoqi, Special Representative of the Chinese Government for Latin American Affairs, was invited to attend the launch of a new book entitled Chilibicte Mountains, World Cultural and Natural Heritage on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of China-Colombia diplomatic relations hosted by the Embassy of Colombia in China.

In his speech, Qiu made positive comments on bilateral relations, saying that the book is not only a testimony to the origin and long history of Colombian civilization, but also Colombia's outstanding contribution to the protection of biodiversity. Recently, President Xi Jinping delivered an important speech at the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, contributing China's wisdom to the global biodiversity conservation cause. China is ready to work with Colombia and the international community to speed up the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development under president Xi's Global Development Initiative, work together to meet challenges, promote post-epidemic recovery and bring more benefits to the two peoples.

Colombia-China relations have witnessed steady and sound development since the establishment of diplomatic ties, with broad prospects for cooperation in politics, economy, trade, culture and environmental protection. Colombia is ready to work with China to strengthen high-level exchanges, deepen cooperation in various fields and push for new achievements in bilateral relations.
