On August 17, 2022, the celebration of the 62nd anniversary of Gabon's independence - the 48th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Canada and China and the Canada China Art, Culture, Trade and Economic Association was held in the Embassy of the Gabonese Republic in China. More than 20 African ambassadors and diplomats in China, representatives of the Chinese government, representatives of well-known enterprises, etc. were invited to attend the event.

At the reception, Mr. Baudelaire Ndon Ella, Gabon's Ambassador to China, delivered a welcoming speech and looked forward to the future of Canada China cooperation. Forty eight years ago, Chairman Mao Zedong and President Omar Bongo Ondimba announced the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Gabon.   China Canada relations are built on the basis of equality, fraternity and sincerity under the win-win cooperation model. The bilateral relations have not only withstood the test of changing situations, but also remain vibrant. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 48 years ago, the two countries have always firmly supported each other. Exchanges and cooperation in various fields have been extremely active. Practical cooperation has achieved more fruitful results. It is hoped that Canada China bilateral relations will continue to deepen and develop.
