September 20 is Nepal's National Day. China is not only a good neighbor and friend of Nepal, but also a major development partner of Nepal, which has made great contributions to the country's economic and social development, Nepalese Ambassador to China Bishnu Shrestha said at a reception for Nepal's seventh Constitution Day and National Day hosted by the Nepalese Embassy in China on September 19. Ansheng International was invited to attend the reception.
The Ambassador said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations on August 1, 1955, Nepal and China have established long-term friendly, in-depth and multifaceted cooperative relations on the basis of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence. Nepal has always firmly adhered to the One-China policy and will never allow any force to use its territory to harm China's interests, and has taken necessary measures. Nepal thanks China for its consistent and unconditional support and respect for Nepal's safeguarding of sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.
"Nepal and China are working together to build a trans-Himalayan three-dimensional connectivity network under the Belt and Road Initiative, which will help transform Nepal from a land-locked country to a land-linked one," he said. "We hope that the feasibility study of the Nepal-China cross-border railway will pave the way for realizing the dream of the Nepalese and Chinese people to connect their peoples and trade at a faster speed," Shrestha said.
The ambassador expressed the hope that the Chinese government would encourage Chinese investors to participate more in the investment in Nepal, such as energy, hydropower, agriculture, infrastructure, fertilizer, medical support and other fields. In the future, Nepal and China will move forward together in the direction of win-win cooperation. At the same time, the Ambassador thanked the Chinese government for providing vaccines, medical equipment and important supplies to Nepal in its fight against COVID-19, and highly appreciated the Chinese government's commitment to continue to provide support to Nepal in its fight against COVID-19.
