On July 11th, 2023, the pre-BRICS summit business seminar was held at the InterContinental Hotel. Chairperson Yang Tingting was invited to attend. The Seminar focused on key developments in South Africa and what they mean for investors and enterprises. Hon. Fikile Majola, Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry & Competition, H.E. Siyabonga Cwele, Ambassador of South Africa to China, H.E. Chen Xiaodong, Ambassador of China to South Africa, Wu Meng, Director-General of Department of International Cooperation of CCPIT, and Busi Mabuza, chairperson of South Africa BRICS Business Council, attended and delivered speeches.

The seminar focused on the theme “BRICS and Africa: Partnership for Mutually Accelerated Growth, Sustainable Development and Inclusive Multilateralism”, highlighting the investment opportunities of Chinese enterprises in South Africa in clean energy, automotive, agriculture and tourism, which is of great significance for Chinese enterprises to visit South Africa.
