On June 16th, 2023, the Embassy of the Republic of Cameroon in China hosted a reception for the National Day. Chairperson Yang Tingting was invited to attend.

The theme of the National Day reception was “Defense Forces and the People of Cameroon”. Wu Peng, Director-General of the Department of African Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, envoys to China and representatives of international organizations attended the event. In his speech, Martin Mpana, Ambassador of the Republic of Cameroon to China, introduced the diversity of Cameroon’s natural scenery and cultural landscape, reviewed the fruitful results of China-Cameroon cooperation in the new era, and praised the great achievements of Chinese modernization. In his speech, Director-General Wu Peng congratulated Cameroon on its achievements in exploring a development path suited to its national conditions, and expressed Chinese government’s determination to push China-Cameroon cooperation to a higher level.
