On October 16th, 2023, China Council For International Investment Promotion(CCIIP) and Confederation of Chilean Industry (SOFOFA) co-organized the 10th Annual Meeting of China-Chile Business Council with the support of China Ministry of Commerce, China Embassy to Chile and Chile Embassy to China. With the theme of "Prospects for China-Chile Business Cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative", the event delved into strategic planning for bilateral trade and investment cooperation, future prospects and opportunities in both countries' economic development, as well as the influence of bilateral trade and investment cooperation. Guests delivered speech, including Gabriel Boric, President of the Republic of Chile, GUO Tingting, vice minister of China Ministry of Commerce, MA Xiuhong, President of CCIIP, and Rosario Navarro, President of SOFOFA. Chairperson YANG Tingting and CEO ZHANG Liqiang were invited to the event. 

Annual meeting

President Boric said, China and Chile have wide space and great potential for future cooperation. China has been Chile's largest trading partner for three consecutive years and is an important export market for Chile. Bilateral cooperation has a broad space, and Chile hopes to broaden the areas of cooperation and join hands with China in areas such as poverty reduction and sustainable energy. It is expected that the success of this annual meeting will contribute to bilateral trade and investment cooperation, open up business opportunities for entrepreneurs, and strengthen economic and trade relations between the two countries.

Keynote Speech by Gabriel Boric, President of the Republic of Chile

GUO Xiaoting, vice minister of Commerce, said that Chile, the first Latin American country to establish diplomatic relations with China, has been the forerunner in China's relations with Latin American and Caribbean countries and their bilateral relations have become a model of win-win cooperation for developing countries. This year marks the fifth anniversary of the "Belt and Road" Cooperation between China and Chile. In the five years, the two countries have achieved fruitful results in the field of economic and trade cooperation. China is willing to work with Chile to further expand the space for green development cooperation, make joint efforts to achieve trade and investment facilitation and liberalization, and promote the China-Chile comprehensive strategic partnership to be at the forefront.

Introduction of China-Chile Business Council(CCBC)

The CCBC is a nongovernmental organization established by the entrepreneurs in China and Chile willing to enhance their cooperation under the initiative and promotion of the governments of both countries. The CCBC has as its tenets enhancing the dialogues and cooperation between the enterprises of the two countries and promoting the bilateral economic and trade relationship under the framework of China-Chile Economic& Trade Joint Committee.
