On November 3rd, the Embassy of the Dominican Republic hosted the Investment and Trade Opportunities in the Dominican Republic in Beijing. Officials were presented at the event, including the Director of Exportation from Prodominicana Mr. Jaime Licairac, Ambassador of Dominica Republic to China, H.E. Briunny Garabito Segura, Director of Dominican Chinese Chamber of Commerce Mr. Edmundo Gil-Tavarez. Chairperson YANG Tingting and CEO ZHANG liqiang were invited to the forum.

H.E. Ambassador Briunny Garabito Segura mentioned that Dominican  Dominican Republic has a population of 10.76 million, with a land area of about 48,000 square meters. It has a stable political environment, stable economic development and complete infrastructure, and its economic growth rate reached 4.9% year-on-year. Its economy ranks 7th in 33 Latin America and the Caribbean countries. Among Central America and the Caribbean countries, it ranks the first, with considerable advantages in tourism, manufacturing, international trade. H.E. Ambassador hopes that more Chinese enterprises will get to know and invest in the Dominican Republic.

Director of Prodominicana Mr. Jaime Licairac delivered a keynote presentation on investment and trade opportunities in the Dominican Republic and he gave the focus on several key areas. He emphasized that the Dominican Republic, with its excellent location and transportation network, is an excellent investment destination for Chinese companies to enter into and expand in the American market.
