On June 1, 2024, the inauguration ceremony of the elected President of El Salvador, Naib Boukel, was held at the Civic Square in front of the National Palace in the capital city of San Salvador.      The ceremony officially began at 9am local time, with President elect Naib Buker and his wife entering the venue under the escort of a ceremonial guard. During the swearing in ceremony, Castro, the President of the Salvadoran National Assembly, put on the presidential ribbon for Bukel, who was then sworn in as the President of El Salvador.

      In his previous term, President Boukel vigorously cracked down on gang crime with an iron fist, reducing El Salvador's homicide rate from 38 per 100000 people when he took office in 2019 to 2.4 per 100000 people at the end of last year. The overall security situation in El Salvador has greatly improved, laying a solid foundation for the country's economic development. At the same time, he proposed to vigorously develop the tourism industry, promote the construction of surfing cities in the country, and strive to make El Salvador a surfing destination in Central America, which has gained widespread recognition and strong support from the Salvadoran people. In the elections held in February this year, Naib Buker won as the presidential candidate with 87% of the vote and successfully achieved re-election.
