On December 11, H.E.Jose Santiago L.Sta.Romana, Philippine Ambassador to China leading the Embassy Delegation with the accompanying of Hu Yang, Deputy Director of China Service Center for Friendship and Cooperation with Foreign Countries, Yu Xiaodong, Office Director of China Service Center for Friendship and Cooperation with Foreign Countries, Yang Tingting(Tina), Secretary-general of the Organizing Committee of Ambassador's China Trip, and Zhang Liqiang(Anson), founder of Ansheng International, leaders of Shaanxi People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and leaders of Foreign Affairs Office of Xi'an Municipal People's Government went into the universities in Xi'an, the enterprise and the consulate area for investigation of economic and trade, developing practical communication and expecting future cooperation with Xi'an.


In the morning, H.E. Jose Santiago L.Sta.Romana, Philippine Ambassador to China and the Embassy delegation visited to Xi'an International University in Yanta District, Xi'an city. After having an in-depth understanding of the characteristics of Chinese university education and experiencing the outstanding traditional culture of China, Philippine Ambassador to China held cordial talks with the faculty and students to enhance mutual understanding.Students from Xi'an International University also prepared a cultural performance with traditional Chinese Musical Instruments for the visit of Philippine Ambassador to China. In the media interview, Philippine Ambassador to China hoped the Philippines could actively carry out more exchanges and cooperation with Chinese universities in education in the future. Over the years, China and the Philippines have carried out many mutually beneficial cooperation in education, and he believes that the cooperation between the two countries will be even closer through this visit.

For a long time, Xi'an has been known for its profound historical, cultural accumulation, abundant science and technological research and development strength. In recent years, the layout and development of the automobile industry have created a new name card for Xi'an, which also refreshed the recognition of Embassy Delegation on Xi'an. At BYD's Xi'an production base, the delegation learned about BYD's production technology and its global industrial chain layout during the visit. Also, they had a deep understanding of this "motor city" rising from the beginning of the Silk Road.

At the China-Philippines International Economy Trade and Culture Exchange Forum held on December 10, in the presence of Mr. Glenn G. Peñaranda, Commercial Counselor of the Philippine Embassy in China and Cao Hui, Full-time Vice President of the Shaanxi People's Friendship Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Xi'an Railway Vocational & Technical Institute presented the project proposal to the Philippine Embassy in China. On the afternoon of December 11th, the delegation visited the new campus of Xi'an Railway Vocational & Technical Institute, located in the Xi'an Branch Port and held a forum with school to discuss further practical cooperation. "During today's visit, we saw that all aspects of the school are fully equipped and advanced. We are very interested in the cooperation with Xi'an Railway Vocational & Technical Institute." The Philippine Ambassador to China said that There is also a light rail in Manila, the capital of the Philippines, but the overall rail network is weak. "While promoting the construction of rail transit, the Philippines also needs more talents in railway operation, management and maintenance, and hopes to establish long-term friendly cooperation in such fields as the cultivation of overseas students, staff training and exchange of teachers," he said.

Later, the delegation visited the Consulate Area in Xi'an and the representative office of the Philippines Batangas Province in Shaanxi, where they were briefed by the staff on the current construction progress of the consulate area."We are eager to cooperate with Xi'an in tourism and jointly promote the establishment of visa centers and more direct flights in the future.At the same time, more cooperation will be carried out around Xi 'an, so as to attract more tourists from Xi 'an and bring more tourists from the Philippines to Xi 'an. I hope all these good wishes will come true", Dr. Erwin F. Balane, Tourism Attaché of the Philippine Embassy in China, said.
