Supported by Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, China Service Center for Friendship and Cooperation with Foreign Countries, the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines, Shaanxi People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Foreign Affairs Office of Xi'an Municipal People's Government and Ansheng Internationl jointly organized the "Silk Road Friendship and Future Cooperation "Ambassador's Chang'an Trip and the China-Philippines International Economy Trade and Culture Exchange Forum was successfully held in ancient capital and the starting point of ancient silk road Xi'an, Shaanxi Province.
YuanMindao, Secretary General of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries,H.E. Jose Santiago L. Sta. Romana, Philippine Ambassador to China, Zhao Gang, Vice Governor of Shaanxi Provincial People's Government and Yu Sufujiang, Executive Deputy Mayor of Xi'an City attended the forum and delivered a speech. More than 100 representatives of Shaanxi Provincial Department of Commerce, Department of Culture and Tourism, CCPIT, Foreign Affairs Offices of various cities,Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries of various provinces, experts and scholars and enterprises representatives attended the meeting.
With the theme of "Silk Road EXpress -- Promoting Local and International Exchanges and Cooperation in Various Fields", this forum conducted in-depth and practical dialogue on China-Philippines cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, culture, tourism, education and agriculture, providing opportunities for the globalization development of enterprises of the two countries. Philippine Ambassador to China Jose Santiago Romana, representatives of Shaanxi Province and Xi 'an City, experts in international relations and representatives of many Chinese and Philippine enterprises discussed new opportunities for exchanges and cooperation between China and the Philippines.
During the forum, Batangas International Trade Center signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Coal Construction Engineering Co., Ltd., witness of Mr. Glen Penjaranda, Commercial Counselor of the Philippine Embassy in China and Mr. Cao Hui, Specialized Vice President of Shaanxi People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. Xi'an Railway Vocational & Technical Institute presented a project proposal to Philippine Embassy in China.
And Ambassador Romana on behalf of the embassy of the republic of the Philippines, presented a certificate of appreciation respectively to the organizations for their outstanding contributions to this event and to the promotion of China-Philippines relations, which are China Service Center for Friendship and Cooperation with Foreign Countries, Xi'an International University, Baigongfang Handcrafts Museum, a global good thing, Hong Lixing (Beijing) Industrial Co., Ltd., the Future International Group, Xi'an Railway Vocational & Technical Institute and Shaanxi Wanzhi Media Technology Co., Ltd.
After the forum, Ambassador Romana said in an exclusive interview with the reporter of Shaanxi TV that Shaanxi and the Philippines enjoy broad areas of cooperation and a solid foundation of cooperation. He said himself like to be the "agent" for deepening the bilateral relations. He hoped that the two sides could promote the common development of the two places and achieve mutual benefit through continuous exchanges and cooperation.
