Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, Nepal for short. A landlocked mountainous country of South Asia at the southern foot of the Himalayas, bounded by China on the north and India on the other three sides. Many of the world's most famous peaks are located here.Eight of the world's 10 highest peaks, including Mount Qomolangma, are on the China-Nepal border, which has the "Himalayas country" said.
But more people are familiar with the name "the land of temples" than "the Land of the Himalayas". It is often said that in Nepal "there are as many houses, as many temples, as many people, as many gods." This is an exaggeration, but it speaks volumes about the prevalence of religion in Nepal.
Nepal is a country with a long history and ancient culture, and has a history of friendly exchanges with China for thousands of years. The eminent monk Fa Xian of the Jin Dynasty and the eminent monk Xuan Zang of the Tang Dynasty both visited Lumbini (located in southern Nepal), the birthplace of Buddha Sakyamuni.
During the Tang Dynasty, Princess Chijin of Nepal married Songtsen Gampo of the Tubo Kingdom.During the Yuan Dynasty, arniko, a famous Nigerian craftsman, came to China to supervise the construction of the White Pagoda Temple in Beijing. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries on August 1, 1955, there have been frequent high-level exchanges, major leaders of the two countries have exchanged visits for many times, and the traditional friendship and friendly cooperative relations between the two peoples have further ushered in good development.
On June 28, 2019, during the "Friendly Little Ambassadors" activity initiated by China Service Center for Friendship and Cooperation with Foreign Countries (CSC) and Ansheng International, 17 Chinese children walked into the Nepalese Embassy in China and listened to Mr. Harichangdra Gomiri, Nepalese Minister to China, talk about Nepal, the "land of temples".
The event was kicked off with a welcome speech by Mr. Leila Mani Bowder, Ambassador of Nepal to China.Ambassador said in greeting "China-Nepal dependent neighbors since ancient times, friendship from generation to generation. With the mutual efforts of our two countries, the relationship continues to deepen. Youth is also the hope for the future of all countries. Youth exchanges between China and Nepal have been increasing in recent years. We welcome more Chinese friends to come to Nepal and know more about Nepal. May the friendship between China and Nepal last forever."
Mr. Harichangdra Gomiri, Nepalese Minister to China, explained the long history, cultural scenery and religious beliefs of Nepal in detail. "Nepal is a multi-party, competitive, parliamentary state of a federal democratic Republic. The Federal Parliament consists of two chambers, the House of Representatives and the National Assembly. The country is divided into seven states and 77 districts. Nepal has a long history and culture, with as many as 10 UNESCO World Heritage sites and monuments. Beautiful natural scenery, is the world famous hiking and mountaineering paradise.
It is also called the country of temples because there are so many temples in Nepal. Lumbini in Nepal is the birthplace of Buddha Buddha and one of the most important religious sites in the world.Nepalese people are very hospitable. Every year, many tourists from all over the world come to Nepal, including many Chinese tourists. There are as many as four direct international flights from China to Nepal. Welcome to Nepal."
After Mr. Minister explained the general situation of Nepal, the Chinese children presented a wonderful talent show to the diplomats of the Nepalese Embassy. There are Peking Opera, one of the quintessence of Chinese culture, emotional poetry reading and youthful ukulele playing. There are also a lot of "Friendly Little Ambassadors" very thoughtful for diplomats to prepare delicate small gifts. There are paper kites representing traditional Chinese handicrafts, and nepalese landscape paintings painted by their own hands. The hospitable Nepalese Embassy also gave small gifts to each of the "Friendly Ambassadors" . The event came to a happy end.
