The "Friendly Little Ambassadors" series of international exchange activities for young people are sponsored by China Service Center for Friendship and Cooperation with Foreign Countries(CSC) and Ansheng International. On the afternoon of August 6, 2019, it was held as scheduled in the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in China. Charge d 'affaires of the Embassy of Afghanistan in China, Mr. Saeed Hussenp attended the event with all the officials of the Embassy and delivered a speech.

He said, "Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Afghanistan and China in 1955, our friendship has become increasingly profound through the long-term efforts and continuous development of the two countries. The Little Ambassadors are the future of bilateral relations and shoulder the mission of promoting the further development of bilateral relations. I hope that through the ‘Friendly Little Ambassadors’ activities, we can enhance our understanding of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and deepen the friendship between the two peoples."

The relationship between China and Afghanistan can be traced back to the ancient Silk Road period. Zhang Qian, a famous Chinese diplomat in the Han Dynasty, stayed in Afghanistan for one year during his diplomatic mission to the Western Regions, which strengthened the contacts between the two countries.

Geographically, Afghanistan is surrounded by the Pamir Plateau to the east, the Sub-continent to the south, the Iranian Plateau to the west, and the Central Asian steppe belt to the north, making it a special heartland in Eurasia. Therefore, Afghanistan, with a long history, as a center where many civilizations and cultures meet, deserves the title of "crossroads of civilizations". 

At the beginning of the event, The Charge d 'affaires of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in China, Mr. Saeed Hassan, expressed his sincere thanks to the Chinese Service Center for Friendship and Cooperation with Foreign Countries. The presence of the Chinese Little Ambassadors undoubtedly elevated the friendly relations between the two countries to a new level.

In order to enable the Little Ambassadors to have a multi-faceted understanding of the history, culture and geography of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mr. Jamm, second Secretary and Director of the Economic Department of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in China, gave the children a lively lesson on diplomacy. The industrious and simple daily life of the Afghan people, the rich and colorful traditional festivals, the unique religious culture and the magnificent landscapes all vividly demonstrate the national characteristics of Afghanistan.

Then the little ambassadors asked Mr. Jam some interesting questions, such as "what is the national flower of Afghanistan", "what do the colors on the Afghan flag represent" and "how to be a good diplomat", and Mr. Jam answered them all.

In addition, Mr. Jam and the diplomats also taught the children the most Afghan characteristic "egg" game, and the little ambassadors also tasted the traditional Afghan tea.

During the performance, the Charge d 'affaires of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in China Mr Hu Senpu together with the embassy officials watched programs performed by little ambassadors, including the tianjin clapper talk, colorful Inner Mongolia folk dance "chopsticks dance", poetry "Chinese youth", Speech“The Moon and the Earth”. This "Friendly Little Ambassador" into the Afghan Embassy activity is nearing the end.

The children enthusiastically surrounded Mr. Said Husunp and recorded many wonderful moments. At the end of the activity, Mr. Said Husunp wrote the best wishes for the little ambassadors in the mood of being reluctant to part with them. In the future, we believe that our friendly little ambassadors will have a great success in school and a bright future just like Mr. Said Husunp's blessing.
