On the afternoon of July 31st, 2023, the China-Georgia Business Forum was successfully held in Beijing. Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia, attended and delivered a keynote speech, and Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), attended and delivered a speech. Levan Davitashvili, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili, Ambassador to China Archil Kalandia, and Chinese Ambassador to Georgia Zhou Qian attended the forum. CEO Zhang Liqiang attended the forum.

Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia, said that the establishment of Georgia-China strategic partnership jointly announced by the Chinese president Xi Jinping and him is a milestone in the history of bilateral relations. With its superior geographical location, favorable business environment and strong policy support, Georgia has provided development opportunities for foreign enterprises. It is hoped that more and more Chinese enterprises will invest in Georgia and conduct extensive cooperation in trade, transportation and logistics, infrastructure and renewable energy to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the CCPIT, delivered a speech
Ren Hongbin, chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), said that Chinese president Xi Jinping met with Prime Minister Garibashvili in Chengdu, charting the course for the sound and steady development of bilateral relations. The CCPIT is willing to join hands with Georgia to seize the opportunities brought about by the synergy of the Belt and Road Initiative and Georgia’s Middle Corridor plan and build more high-quality platforms. Georgian enterprises are welcome to participate in the first China International Supply Chain Expo to make more mutual benefit, promote economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between the two countries, and help the development and revitalization of the two countries.
CEO Zhang Liqiang attended the forum
The forum was co-hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia. About 230 government officials, business people and media representatives of the two countries attended the forum. Heads of Georgian Enterprise Bureau, Tourism Bureau and National Wine Bureau introduced trade and investment opportunities in their respective fields, and more than 180 representatives of Chinese and Georgian entrepreneurs from beverage, energy, infrastructure construction, transportation and logistics, investment and other fields held talks.
