On November 24th, the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and the Embassy of Côte d'Ivoire in China co-hosted a reception to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Côte d'Ivoire in Beijing. Mr. Wu Weihua, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), Mr. Kakou Adom, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Côte d'Ivoire, Mr. Jiang Jiang, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), and Mr. Dosso Adama, Ambassador of Côte d'Ivoire in Beijing, , attended the reception and delivered speeches. Chairperson Mrs. Yang Tingting and CEO Mr. Zhang Liqiang were invited to attend.

H.E. Ambassador Mr. Dosso Adama said that the win-win partnership between Côte d'Ivoire and China, based on equality, trust and mutual respect, has yielded satisfactory results. Ambassador expressed his confidence in the bilateral cooperation and a better future for Côte d'Ivoire and China.

Mr. Jiang Jiang said China China attaches great importance to China-Côte d'Ivoire relations, and is willing to take the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as an opportunity to consolidate mutual support, strengthen all-round cooperation, and promote China-Côte d'Ivoire relations to a new level. China will adhere to the basic national policy of opening up to the world, firmly pursue the open-door strategy of mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, and continue to provide new opportunities for African countries including Côte d'Ivoire.

Minister Kakou Adom said that in recent years, China-Côte d'Ivoire relations have developed at a high level, political mutual trust has been consolidated, economic and trade exchanges have grown rapidly, and investment cooperation has continued to advance. Côte d'Ivoire firmly support the one-China principle and is willing to take the series of activities celebrating the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as an opportunity to further promote friendship and cooperation in various fields.

Minister Mr. Kakou Adom Delivered the Speech

A photo exhibition on China-Côte d'Ivoire friendship and cooperation was also held along with the reception, and the representatives of the Côte d'Ivoir spoke highly of the achievements of the cooperation. Traditional songs were played by teachers and students from Côte d'Ivoire schools, and Côte d'Ivoire traditional dance and Chinese martial art were performed by dancing group and Martial Art Association from Côte d'Ivoire.

About 400 guests attended the event, including officials from International Department of Central Committee of CPC, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Commerce, ambassadors and diplomats from African countries in China, and representatives of enterprise and media.
