Embassy of the Republic of Colombia and Ansheng International co-hosted the Multimedia performance and workshop of Hybris by La Quinta del Lobo in Digital Branding Center of China Puppet Art Theater on December 6th ,2023. H.E. Sergio Cabrera, ambassador of Colombia to China, Ms. YANG Tingting, chairperson of Ansheng International, and Mr. WU Yanzhong, head of the Digital Branding Center of China Puppet Art Theater presented at the activity and delivered speeches. Ms. Melisa Murcia Pabón, Second secretary of Colombia, Mr. ZHANG Liqiang, CEO of Ansheng Intentional, special guests and media attended this event.

La Quinta del Lobo is an interdisciplinary transmedia performing arts and expanded formats ensemble, established in 2010 in Bogota, Colombia. Their works explore the creative possibilities generated by the intersections between the arts, science and technologies that define our time. Their works have been presented in Colombia, Peru, Brazil, United States, Germany, France, Hong Kong, United Arab Emirates, among others.

H.E. Ambassador Cabrera said in the interview that Colombia is a country known for its multiculturalism. Culture from different sources intertwines in diverse geographical environments, which gave rise to enormous cultural wealth. In the universal language that transcends borders, he encourages Chinese audience to open hearts and minds to this performance to evokes curiosity and appreciation for diversity, and visit Colombia to experience first-hand the colors, sounds, and emotions that nourish and inspire these artistic expressions.

Mrs. YANG Tingting, chairperson of Ansheng International delivered a speech as the representative of co-host. She said that Ansheng International has been focusing on internationalization and giving priority to cultural exchange and communication. She was glad to work with her old friend the Colombian embassy in China and hopefully she made contribution to the cultural exchange between the two countries and more Chinese people would fall in love with Colombia.
Ms. YANG Tingting's Delivered the Speech
Three members of La Quinta del Lobo visited China, including Ms. Carmen Gil Vrolijk (Concept, direction, art and live visuals), Mr. Camilo Giraldo Angel (Original music, live guitar and sound design), and Mr. Juan Carlos Echeverry (Tenor: Voice and performance). They brought their performance Hybris to China and it was inspired by Grolar, offspring of the Grizzly and Polar, which represent the hybrid species that are a product of our era, the Anthropocene. This project is based on scientific research of temperature shifts over the last decades and on DNA sequencing of hybrid creatures. All the information gathered is used to create images, data visualization and live video, articulated by a staged performance in a dome structure involving music, voice, performance and projections on multiple screens.

After the show, La Quinta del Lobo shared their inspirations and behind the screen to the audience. Their multiple shows were presented on the screens to the audience, and everyone marveled at the constant inspiration and creativity of the artists, and it was such a good opportunity to get a glimpse of Colombia's uniquely charismatic culture and its rich cultural connotations through this event.
