Exploring Chinese market for South American Brands and Building a Online Highway for China-Colombia Trade
The newly opened Colombian National Pavilion is the first National Pavilion which is solely for products from one Latin American countries, and it attracted wide attention. This ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Colombia to China Mr. Sergio Cabrera, Director of ProColombia in China Mr. Oscar Felipe Rueda, President Ms. Ge Xiaoou and Vice Chairperson Ms. Yang Tingting of Prestige International Trade Development Co., Ltd, and Vice President Mr. Ye Wei and Senior Advisor Mr. Larry Lee of JD Group.
China is the major importer of agricultural products from Latin American countries. An increasing number of such agricultural products entered into the Chinese market through JD.com such as Chile cherry and Argentine red shrimp.
Ambassador Mr. Cabrera said that Colombian coffee and chocolate are massively popular around the world, and JD.com will be a good channel for Chinese consumers to have easy access to Colombia-originated products.

JD Colombian National Pavilion Working with Partners to Launch the Cocoa Farmer Income Boosting Promotion Program
It takes four years from a seed to a cocoa bean. The cocoa plantation was tortured by armed conflicts, resulting in a unsteady income of cocoa farmers. A large number of farmers have a extremely low income and they cannot afford the expense of their children to attend school.
JD Colombian National Pavilion is working with Colombia El Alcaraván Foundation, Colombian Brand LOK and Prestige International to launch the Cocoa Farmer Life Quality Promotion Program. It aims at boosting cocoa farmer income and improving their life quality by buying raw materials for the chocolate production from farms and the cocoa association in Araucania.

Through the Cocoa Farmer Income Boosting Promotion Program, JD Colombian National Pavilion and the brand LOK will contribute 4.5% of its sales volume to improve the life quality of Colombian cocoa farmers. JD and LOK are striving to distribute reasonable income to 1600 farms. By cultivating and processing the cocoa, the locals will have reasonable income to increase their quality of life and their children will have fair access to attend school.
